Pair (2023)
Large language models have the potential to be powerful assistants for government officers, capable of helping with a broad range of writing, research and operational tasks. However, there are significant challenges in using them for government work today, including data security issues and a lack of government context.
Pair is a large language model-powered assistant for government officers that allows safe and productive use of large language models within government systems.

Hack for Public Good 2024
CalSG (2023)
Citizens book appointments with government agencies all the time, but each of these agencies has its own custom appointment booking system. This means that every single public-facing agency has to spend time and money to build and maintain its own system, and the quality of these systems can vary significantly.
We wanted to build a tool for public officers to easily publish time slots which others could then book using a public link. From our research on existing appointment booking systems, this tool also had to include form-building capabilities so that officers could collect relevant information (e.g. name, reason for appointment) along with the appointment booking.
During the project, we realised that if this tool was accessible to all public officers, they could also use it internally, e.g. to book time slots for meetings or shared facilities.

Plumber (2023)
Plumber is a no-code tool that lets public officers create custom, automated workflows to handle various daily tasks, so they can focus on more important work. Plumber supports seamless integrations between a growing number of government and commercial services.

EventSG (2023)
EventSG aims to increase the targeted citizen pool for government events while decreasing engagement fatigue for citizens. It starts with data collection through attendance, reducing event day ops overhead for the government. Also known as EngageSG.

Built on React and ChakraUI, it provides reusable components and patterns that reduce duplicate work while maintaining high accessibility standards.

UnboringSG (2022)
UnboringSG is a website and browser extension that helps residents discover interesting things to eat, do, and learn in Singapore. It transforms new browser tabs into windows of inspiration, displaying curated activities from Singapore Tourism Board's content hub and crowdsourced recommendations.
The platform challenges the perception that Singapore is 'boring' by making local discoveries effortlessly accessible, without requiring users to download additional apps or actively search for activities.

Its iOS and Android mobile apps, enhanced in August 2024, help users check and report suspicious communications.
