A fun and engaging internal platform that helps colleagues connect by sharing their work, interests, badges, and favourite memories

Summary
As OGP continues to grow, fostering meaningful relationships among colleagues becomes increasingly challenging. While Donut meetups facilitate interactions, they require significant time and effort. The previous Profile Wall quickly became outdated and hard to maintain, leaving New Joiners out and contributing little to OGP’s culture. With the need for a more flexible and sustainable solution, the Profile Wall was revamped to help OGP officers connect. This platform plays a crucial role in building a sense of community and enhancing employee engagement throughout an officer’s time at OGP.
Objectives and Product Goals
The Profile Wall aims to create a fun, engaging, and interactive platform that helps colleagues connect in a meaningful way. Key goals include:
Foster meaningful connections across teams by encouraging employees to share their personal experiences and interests
Create a fun and engaging experience that supports OGP’s team culture
Ensure sustainability through a low-effort approach that remains fresh and accessible
Research and Approach
The revamp of the Profile Wall was driven by the need for a system that could scale with OGP’s growth. Through employee feedback, we identified key challenges with the previous wall: it became static, difficult to maintain, and often went unnoticed. What was intended as a space for connection had turned into a passive fixture. This underscored the need for a more dynamic format that truly reflects who we are as an organisation.
For New Joiners, navigating a new workplace can feel daunting, and forming relationships outside of work tasks is not always easy. The Profile Wall offers a simple yet creative way to bridge this gap, helping them connect with colleagues early on. For existing OGP officers, it provides an opportunity to rediscover connections and uncover shared interests they may not have known before.

Solution Overview
We designed a hybrid solution that integrates both physical and digital formats, allowing for ease of use and continuous engagement.
Physical Format: Physical profile cards displayed in the office that feature an officer’s photo, basic information, and QR codes that link to a more detailed digital profile page
Digital Format: Individual profile pages showcasing products worked on, fun facts, badges, and network details. These pages are simple to modify and enable digital interaction, ensuring employees can always access up-to-date information
The Profile Wall will be part of the onboarding process, helping New Joiners set-up their profiles and integrate into OGP from day one.
Outcomes and Impact
We hope that the Profile Wall will pave the way for more OGP officers to connect meaningfully and lead to a deeper sense of belonging within the organisation. Beyond work tasks, it gives individuals a space to showcase their personalities, interests, and experiences, further enriching workplace interactions.
A strong work culture is key to employee engagement and well-being. By complementing initiatives like Donut meetups, the Profile Wall is a continuous way to strengthen inter-team relationships, enriching the fabric of OGP’s community.
Next Steps and Future Vision
During Hackathon, we seized the opportunity to introduce and promote the platform, encouraging officers to start populating their profiles. We also took profile photos and collected responses to some of the questions in the factsheet.
In the coming weeks, the team will transfer these to the digital format and set-up the physical Profile Wall at the office. Additionally, we plan to expand the platform’s functionality, integrating it more deeply into team-building initiatives.
